IT'S PLAYOFF TIME IN PARTY TOWN!

The Waterloo Blackhawks and Green Bay are tied at one game apiece in a best of five series for the USHL Championship. The series moves to Young Arena for Games 3 and 4 this weekend. You can hear both games here on The Fan with pregame coverage each night beginning at 6:45. If necessary, Game 5 would be played in Green Bay on May 23.

1650 The Fan received a total of ten awards, and three 1st Place plaques in the 2011 Iowa Broadcast News Association News Awards Contest. In the Large Market Radio Division, KCNZ faced competition from some of the largest stations in Iowa. The Fan won 1st Place in both the Best Sportscast and Best Political Coverage categories. 1650 The Fan News/Sports Director Jesse Gavin also took home top honors in the Excellence in Anchoring category.
